We took the bus downtown and caught the Pride Parade. In some places, it's still called a march, but in the Twin Cities, it has turned into a celebration.
The parade draws 200,000 people, and the whole Pride Festival brings in 600,000. We skipped the festival this year and hit Brit's and Peavey Plaza for lunch instead.
Happening at the same time was the US Olympic gymnastics trials at Target Center. The entire length of Nicollet Mall was blocked off for a Parisian-themed market. Hundreds of vendors set up shop and it was a fun atmosphere.
