We were supposed to dock in Krems, Austria, but the docks were full so we cruised back upriver to the charming town of Ybbs. It's not a regular stop on any of the cruise lines' routes, so it is not a tourist trap. It was one of our favorite explorations.
The town's modest church was spectacular.
We ducked into a dark tunnel and stumbled onto this gem of a cafe in the courtyard of an old building. Within 20 minutes the place was packed with locals and they were turning people away. We had two drinks each and the bill was 10 euro.
